Manchester United vs Bournemouth: Paul Pogba inspires side to third consecutive victory

Paul Pogba's man-of-the-match display helped bring Manchester United's turbulent year to a positive end, withBournemouth comprehensively defeated as caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer oversaw another morale-boosting performance.

The exciting post-Jose Mourinho era continues apace at Old Trafford, where players are now displaying freedom, fluidity and cohesion sorely lacking towards the end of the Portuguese's reign.

Pogba has enjoyed the starkest change in fortunes. A fortnight on from being an unused substitute in Mourinho's final match, the midfielder scored twice and set up another as United beat Eddie Howe's Cherries 4-1 in the final Premier League match of 2018.

United appear liberated by Solskjaer, whose side have scored 12 goals and picked up nine points since his appointment as caretaker manager. Sir Matt Busby and Mourinho are the only others to have won their first three league games as manager of the club.

Ronaldo given Best Player nod at Globe Soccer Awards

Cristiano Ronaldo beat Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe to the award. Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the Best Player as the Juventus superstar scooped two honours at the 2019 Globe Soccer Awards.  Ronaldo reigned supreme in Dubai, where he beat Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe to the award on Thursday.  It marked the third consecutive year Ronaldo was crowned the award's best player, and fifth in total since 2011.  Last season Ronaldo and Real Madrid took a clean sweep of the awards, with Ronaldo claiming Best Player, Zinedine Zidane taking Best Coach and the Spanish giants earning Best Club.   The five-time Ballon d'Or winner also received the Fans' Award at the ceremony in the United Arab Emirates.  "What better way to start the new year. Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Expecting Baby No. 4: It's a Girl!

There's another little girl on the way for  Kobe Bryant  and  Vanessa Bryant .  On New Year's Day, the retired basketball living legend and his longtime wife announced they are expecting their fourth child together. "New year, new baby!
